MLB Reporter Bashed for Viral ‘Death Glare’ to Cameraman

Fox Sports MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal found himself trending for all the wrong reasons this weekend — and now he’s finally speaking out.

It all started during a live interview with Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Andruw Monasterio on Sunday. While Rosenthal was doing his usual on-field reporting, chaos struck. A collision on the sideline knocked Rosenthal backward, sending him crashing into a nearby photographer. The impact knocked both men off their feet — but what really caught fans’ attention was what happened next.

Instead of helping the cameraman up, Rosenthal turned around and gave him a withering glare — the kind of look usually reserved for strike-three calls or stolen parking spots. Then he simply turned his back and kept on reporting.

Social media exploded. Fans labeled it a “death stare” and blasted Rosenthal for appearing heartless.

But according to Rosenthal, that’s not how it went down. On Monday’s episode of Foul Territory, the veteran reporter addressed the viral moment head-on.

“I must admit, when I looked at the video, I was surprised at how upset I appeared,” Rosenthal said. “I was more confused than anything.”

He explained that he was still live on-air during the entire ordeal and couldn’t break away to help at the time. But once the cameras stopped rolling?

“I rushed over to apologize profusely. I felt awful,” he said.

The photographer in question, Scott Paulus, reportedly accepted the apology, and the two were able to clear the air.

So no, Rosenthal isn’t harboring some secret grudge against MLB camera crews — just caught in a messy moment during a live broadcast.
