Democrats’ long-standing animosity toward Charlie Kirk was on full display even during his memorial, with some refusing to honor the conservative activist and others openly blasting his legacy.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas criticized her colleagues for not opposing the House resolution recognizing Kirk, admitting it “hurt [her] heart” that only two White Democrats voted against it. She argued Kirk’s rhetoric unfairly targeted people of color. In total, 58 Democrats voted no.
President Trump quickly shot back at the move, saying, “It tells you that they’re deranged.”
Despite calls to lower the political temperature following Kirk’s assassination, top Democrats skipped his Arizona memorial entirely, and only a handful showed up at the earlier Capitol vigil.
Progressives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, two of Kirk’s fiercest critics, didn’t mince words either. Omar said his legacy “belongs in the dustbin of history,” while AOC previously dismissed his views as “ignorant and uneducated.”
At the service, former Trump cabinet member Ben Carson defended Kirk’s intellect, remarking, “I’ve seen him run circles around people with college degrees.”

Charlie Kirk belongs to a kind hearted humanity, promoting love, respect and care for every one, especially our families, faith and our nation. I do not see him that he belonged to a particular party, as Democrat or Republican, but to humanity, in particular to every American. Democrats do not have a good leader; unfortunate: Democrats will further go down hill: wait and See!
