Outrage After Public School Teachers Mock Charlie Kirk’s Assassination with “Bloodied” Halloween Shirts

A group of public school employees is under intense fire after wearing Halloween shirts eerily resembling the bloody scene of conservative icon Charlie Kirk’s assassination — and they did it inside a taxpayer-funded school.

The now-viral image, taken at Vail Unified School District, shows several teachers grinning in T-shirts smeared with red “blood” splatters and the phrase “Problem Solved.” The photos ignited fury across social media, especially among supporters of the late Turning Point USA founder, who was gunned down during a speaking event in Utah just weeks ago.

“You’d expect this from college radicals, not from teachers entrusted with our children,” one outraged parent wrote on Facebook.

Superintendent John Carruth attempted to downplay the incident, claiming the shirts were “math-themed” and reused from last Halloween.

“Any reference that these shirts were related to something other than that are simply false and untrue,” Carruth wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post. “The staff wearing them care deeply about children.”

Carruth admitted the shirts were “tone deaf” and apologized to anyone offended, but refused to discipline the teachers.

But critics, including Arizona Rep. Rachel Keshel, aren’t buying it.

“These aren’t math jokes. They’re glorifying violence—real violence—against a real man,” Keshel said in a blistering statement. “In a state like Arizona, where we value freedom but also civility, this crosses every line. Especially in front of children.”

Observers pointed out that the placement of the “blood” stains was over the left side of the chest — the exact spot where Charlie Kirk was shot.

“Who’s buying this explanation?” asked Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for TPUSA. “The costume might predate Charlie’s murder, but the decision to wear it again — now — is jaw-dropping.”

Kolvet, who initially called for the teachers’ termination, said the explanation feels more like a cover-up than an honest mistake.

“We’ve seen enough evil since Charlie’s murder that I’d love to believe this isn’t intentional,” Kolvet said. “But even if it’s not, it shows how far gone public education has become.”

He added that teachers wearing such shirts — especially after the brutal, high-profile assassination of a nationally respected conservative leader — only deepens the public’s mistrust in America’s education system.

Charlie Kirk was murdered in September 2025 while delivering a speech on free speech and faith at Utah Valley University. His killing — by a 23-year-old student allegedly radicalized on far-left online forums — sent shockwaves through conservative circles and led President Donald Trump to declare a national day of mourning.

“Charlie stood for truth, freedom, and God,” President Trump said at a memorial service. “We will not forget him — and we will not forgive those who cheer for his death.”

Kirk’s legacy lives on through Turning Point USA, which has ramped up its activism in high schools and colleges nationwide.

Rep. Keshel is calling on Superintendent Carruth to immediately fire any employee involved and to launch an independent investigation into how the incident was allowed to happen.

“This is about basic decency,” she said. “The fact that this even happened shows we need a culture shift in our schools — one that starts with accountability.”

Carruth has pledged that the shirts “will not be worn again” — but offered no further consequences. No employees have been named, suspended, or reassigned as of Sunday afternoon.

Parents across the district are now demanding a full school board meeting — and some are threatening to pull their children from the public school system altogether.

“If this is what Arizona teachers stand for,” one mother said, “they’re not getting my tax dollars anymore.”
