Comer Sends Warning to Clintons as New Deposition Date Looms

The clock is ticking for Bill and Hillary Clinton.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has drawn a hard line in the sand: show up in January — or be held in contempt of Congress. The warning comes as part of the explosive investigation into the Clintons’ connections to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, a probe that has already rocked political circles on both sides of the aisle.

“They’re saying he’s going to a funeral that day,” Comer told Fox News Digital. “We’ve been more than patient — but this committee isn’t playing games. If Bill Clinton ducks this, he’ll be held in contempt. Period.”

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the Clintons over the summer as part of a deep-dive into the elite network surrounding Epstein — a network that included billionaires, diplomats, former presidents, and royalty.

While photos and logs have long shown both Bill and Hillary Clinton attending events, flying on Epstein’s jet, and rubbing shoulders with Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwellneither has ever testified publicly under oath about the full extent of their relationship with the disgraced financier.

That is about to change.

Comer has officially rescheduled their closed-door depositions for:

  • January 13, 2026 – President Bill Clinton
  • January 14, 2026 – Secretary Hillary Clinton

If they fail to appear, the Committee will “move immediately to contempt proceedings.”

Until now, several former officials have provided written statements or been excused due to health concerns. Notably, former Trump officials Bill Barr and Alex Acosta were among the few who testified in person — setting the bar high for transparency.

But Comer made it clear: the Clintons don’t qualify for any special treatment.

“President and Secretary Clinton had a personal relationship with Epstein and Maxwell,” Comer wrote in a sharply worded letter to their attorney. “To suggest they should be handled like unrelated third parties is absurd.”

The letter accused the Clintons’ legal team of misrepresenting facts, making entitlement-based demands, and deliberately stalling.

The Clintons’ ties to Epstein have long drawn scrutiny, but no legal accountability. Former President Trump — also pictured with Epstein years ago — has been open about cutting ties early and supports the investigation.

Meanwhile, Virginia Giuffre, the survivor who brought Epstein’s global sex ring to light, has released a memoir this month that includes new allegations against international political figures, adding even more urgency to Congress’s probe.

“America deserves answers,” Comer said on the House floor last week. “Not from mid-level staffers or ghostwritten statements — but directly from the people who knew Epstein best.”

Though neither Clinton has been charged with any crime related to Epstein, critics note that the timeline of their social engagements with him spans years — and that transparency is long overdue.

The upcoming January depositions could be a historic moment in the Epstein investigation — or the start of a brutal legal battle. Comer has indicated contempt proceedings will not be symbolic, and GOP members are already preparing for public hearings should the Clintons resist.

The Oversight Committee is also reportedly weighing whether to release transcripts, photos, and travel logs previously redacted from public view.

For now, one thing is clear: Comer isn’t backing down — and neither is the spotlight on Epstein’s powerful inner circle.
