Southwest Flight Attendant Found Dead After ‘Fall’ at Hotel

A veteran Southwest Airlines flight attendant from Oklahoma has been found dead during a work trip to Hawaii — and her grieving family says there are troubling questions about what happened in the hours before her death.

Jenny Lupton, 50, was found outside the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki after apparently falling from the 24th floor of the hotel, according to her family.

Honolulu police have now launched an unattended death investigation as detectives work to piece together Lupton’s final movements.

Lupton, who was based in Oklahoma and had worked for Southwest Airlines for 29 years, was in Hawaii for work and expected to return home after spending several days on the island.

Her sister, Tresa Lupton, said Jenny had gone out with fellow flight attendants before her death.

“She just went out with one of her flight attendant friends, and they danced and had a good time,” Tresa told News9.

Jenny even got a tattoo during the trip, according to her sister.

But what happened afterward remains unclear.

Lupton’s family said they were informed by the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner that she fell from a balcony on the 24th floor of the hotel.

Hotel security reportedly told the family that investigators are reviewing footage from more than 70 surveillance cameras in the area as authorities try to determine exactly what happened.

It is not yet clear whether anyone actually witnessed the fall.

For Lupton’s family, the unanswered questions are especially difficult.

Tresa said she planned to travel to Hawaii as the family searched for answers, adding that they are concerned there could be more to the story.

“The timeline doesn’t make sense, and we are afraid that maybe there was foul play,” she said.

Police have not announced evidence of foul play, and authorities have not publicly identified a suspect or said that a crime occurred.

The Honolulu Police Department said additional information would not be released until the investigation is completed.

Lupton was remembered by relatives as a woman who loved life and adored her 15-year-old son.

Her sudden death has left her family searching for answers thousands of miles from home as investigators scrutinize surveillance footage and attempt to reconstruct her final hours.

Southwest Airlines and the Hilton Hawaiian Village had not publicly provided additional details about the case as of Monday.
