Turning Point USA is declaring cultural war on Super Bowl Sunday. The conservative youth organization is rolling out its own live televised halftime special, promising a celebration of American values at the exact moment the NFL features pop superstar Bad Bunny on the nation’s biggest stage.
The event, called The All-American Halftime Show, will stream at 8 p.m. ET on February 8. It features Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. Organizers say the goal is simple: offer families a show that honors faith, family, and freedom at a time when the NFL is struggling with conservative backlash.
Kid Rock says he signed on because the moment demanded it.
“We’re coming in like David versus Goliath,” he said. “Everyone keeps telling us competing with the NFL is impossible. Maybe it is. But Americans love an underdog, especially one that still loves this country.”
TPUSA officials say the program will feel more intimate than a stadium spectacle. Viewers will see performers up close, not from the nosebleeds. The show was filmed on a custom-built stage designed to mimic a high-energy rock revival.
Spokesman Andrew Kolvet says the demand for an alternative grew after the NFL’s halftime pick sparked outrage.
“Families are tired of feeling like politics comes first and patriotism comes last,” Kolvet said. “This is halftime without the propaganda. Just great music and love of country. Millions will be tuning in.”
This year’s Super Bowl pits the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks. But most of the political firestorm has centered on Bad Bunny, chosen by the NFL months before the league’s latest clash with conservative America.
Critics say the league ignored its own core fan base. They point to the singer’s past political statements and complaints about Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Last year, Bad Bunny told i-D Magazine he avoided U.S. tour dates because ICE “could be outside [my concert].”
President Donald Trump responded sharply when asked about the halftime lineup last fall.
“I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they picked him. It’s ridiculous,” Trump said on Newsmax. “Then they blame it on some promoter. It’s all part of the same problem. People are tired of this stuff.”
Trump also announced he will skip the game entirely, saying the performers don’t interest him and the California venue is “too far to bother with.”
Republicans on Capitol Hill have also criticized the NFL. Some lawmakers say the league is drifting further into activist messaging. Senator Tommy Tuberville called it “more and more woke.”
Bad Bunny’s previous comments about ICE resurfaced immediately after his halftime announcement. Conservative activists say the league knowingly elevated a performer who criticized federal law enforcement now backed strongly by the Trump 2025–2029 administration.
One longtime conservative strategist told us anonymously:
“The NFL knew exactly what it was doing. This wasn’t an accident. It’s part of a broader push to signal cultural solidarity with the far-left entertainment world.”
Meanwhile, Trump’s newly energized ICE operations have become a central message of his second term. Officials note that security at major events, including the Super Bowl, remains “standard protocol.”
Adding to the tension, Green Day will perform before kickoff. Its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has spent years attacking Trump publicly.
One former NFL executive says the league is “playing with fire.”
“You can’t market a patriotic brand while stacking the show with people who take shots at half the country,” he said. “Fans notice.”
Turning Point USA’s halftime show will stream on YouTube, X, and Rumble. It will also appear on Sinclair’s CHARGE! channel and through partners such as Daily Wire+, Real America’s Voice, One America News Network, and other conservative outlets.
Media analysts say TPUSA sees an opening in the cultural landscape. Younger conservative audiences have grown frustrated with what they view as political messaging creeping into every entertainment event.
Erika Kirk, who has been helping expand TPUSA’s national footprint, summed it up bluntly during a recent TAP interview.
“People are starving for content that doesn’t mock their values,” she said. “We want to build something lasting. Not just a halftime show—an alternative culture.”
For Kid Rock, the mission is even simpler.
“America deserves a show that feels like America,” he said. “Let the NFL do whatever it wants. We’ll be over here having a good time.”
As the NFL braces for a politically charged Super Bowl Sunday, millions of conservative viewers may reach for the remote and choose the competition instead.
