Hunter Biden stunned critics and supporters alike after sitting down with conservative firebrand Candace Owens for a jaw-dropping interview in which he openly admitted: “I was a crackhead.”
The bombshell conversation, set to air Thursday on Owens’ podcast, marks one of the most unexpected political-media crossovers in recent memory — and Hunter didn’t hold back for a second.
In a preview clip posted online, the embattled son of former President Joe Biden looked directly at Owens — who has spent years publicly ridiculing him over his addiction scandals — and admitted she wasn’t wrong.
“I’ve heard you call me a crackhead many times, and the truth of the matter is, I was a crackhead,” Hunter confessed bluntly.
The shocking admission immediately sent social media into meltdown, with critics and supporters alike reacting to the deeply personal moment.
But the interview quickly turned darker.
Hunter described spiraling into addiction after his marriage collapsed, revealing he reached a terrifying crossroads in his life.
“My marriage fell apart, and it just started a really, really dark cycle,” he said. “My brother called me and said, ‘This has got to stop.’”
Then came the moment he says changed everything.
“And it forced me into a choice. And the choice was, do I get out of bed and live, or do I die?”
The 56-year-old has long been haunted by his past drug abuse, but his latest comments offered one of the rawest looks yet into just how bad things became behind closed doors.
In his memoir Beautiful Things, Hunter previously admitted he could find crack cocaine virtually anywhere and once described his ability to track it down as a “superpower.” At the height of his addiction, he claimed he was drinking vodka daily while smoking crack constantly — sometimes every 15 minutes.
Hunter also revealed he wandered the streets of Washington searching for drugs and even cooked crack cocaine inside a Los Angeles hotel bungalow.
Things reportedly became so desperate that he ended up living in a cheap Super 8 motel while befriending another homeless addict.
“The relationship was symbiotic,” Hunter once wrote. “It was two crack addicts who couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag.”
Despite the chaos, Hunter credited his father for never abandoning him — even during the darkest moments of his downward spiral.
According to Hunter, Joe Biden confronted him directly while serving as vice president under Barack Obama.
“I know you’re not fine, Hunter. You need help,” Joe reportedly told him.
Hunter said his father stood by him no matter how ugly things became.
“He never abandoned me, never shunned me, never judged me,” Hunter wrote.
But the interview wasn’t just about drugs and redemption.
Hunter also launched into a fiery political rant, accusing Democratic insiders and what he called the “DC elite” of destroying his father politically after concerns over Joe Biden’s mental fitness exploded during the 2024 election cycle.
“Something has changed, Candace. It’s not left or right,” Hunter claimed. “The DC elite of the left, they crushed my dad because he was never a part of that club. He was never part of the Epstein class.”
The explosive remark appeared to reference deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein and the elite social circles that have fueled conspiracy theories and political controversy for years.
Hunter’s comments come after mounting pressure from Democratic power players — including actor George Clooney — reportedly pushed Joe Biden to abandon his 2024 reelection campaign.
Before leaving office, however, Joe Biden issued Hunter a controversial pardon tied to his federal gun conviction and tax evasion case involving more than $1.4 million in unpaid taxes — a move that sparked outrage from Republicans and reignited accusations of political favoritism.
Now, with Hunter openly revisiting his addiction nightmare on one of conservative media’s biggest platforms, the Biden family drama is once again front and center — and this latest chapter may be the most explosive yet.
