A 21-year-old college student plunged 130 feet to her death in a horrifying bungee-style jump gone wrong after workers allegedly threw her off a bridge without attaching the cord.
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas died Saturday in Limeira, São Paulo, after what was supposed to be an adrenaline-filled rope jump from the abandoned “Skeleton Bridge” turned into a nightmare.
Disturbing video circulating online reportedly shows Rodrigues de Freitas being carried toward the edge of the bridge by staff before being tossed into the air. Moments later, panic erupts when a witness notices the rope is still lying on the ground.

“Guys, the rope!” the witness can be heard shouting, according to reports.
But it was already too late.
Authorities said Rodrigues de Freitas fell roughly 130 feet. A police helicopter was called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead there.
Her fiancé was reportedly watching as the terrifying fall unfolded.
Just before the jump, Rodrigues de Freitas had shared an eerie post on Instagram that now reads like a chilling warning.
“Who was the crazy person who let me jump off a bridge?” she reportedly wrote in a joking tone.
Rodrigues de Freitas was a physical education and sports management student. Photos from her social media showed wristbands for the activity and views from the bridge before the deadly jump.
The location itself has a grim reputation. The abandoned site is known as “Skeleton Bridge,” and one warning sign in the area reportedly included the word “danger” along with graffiti referencing the “risk of death.”
Police have arrested six people in connection with the fatal incident, including three who were allegedly at the jump site. Authorities said two suspects tried to run from the scene and were later tracked down by helicopter in a wooded area.
The shocking case has sparked outrage in Brazil as investigators work to determine how Rodrigues de Freitas was allowed to be thrown from the bridge without the cord that was supposed to save her life.
