Wall Street Sees Record Highs After Trump Victory

Wall Street roared back to life Wednesday as news of President Trump’s expected return fueled a historic surge. Stocks skyrocketed. The Dow Jones hit a new record at 43,499, gaining nearly 1,300 points.

The Nasdaq soared 425 points to 18,860, and the S&P 500 jumped 103 points to 5,887. The market was electric, welcoming Trump’s promised economic shakeup.

Investors are counting on Trump’s second term to slash regulations, lower taxes, and get tough on foreign competition. Wall Street analysts agree that Trump’s hardline approach on tariffs could squeeze Chinese imports and give American companies a much-needed edge.

For instance, Tesla’s stock surged 12% as CEO Elon Musk’s support for Trump paid off immediately. Unlike Tesla, EV competitors like Rivian and Nikola saw their stocks slide, a trend Wedbush analysts attribute to Trump’s anticipated tariff increases, which could drive out cheaper Chinese imports and give Tesla dominance in the U.S. market.

Banking stocks saw massive gains too. Wells Fargo jumped 11%, and JPMorgan Chase, the nation’s biggest bank, rose 9%. Cryptocurrencies thrived under Trump’s pro-crypto stance, with Bitcoin climbing nearly 8% to a record $75,345.

Trump’s promise to crack down on crime also worked in favor of private prison companies. Geo Group, a key player in the private prison sector, soared 26% on anticipation of stricter sentencing.

Energy stocks didn’t miss out either. Exxon and Chevron, poised for a boost from Trump’s expected lifting of production limits, saw gains of 2.3% and 2.5%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the green energy sector—propped up by Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act—took a hit. Solar firm Sunnova plunged over 23%, and Plug Power, a hydrogen tech company, fell by 14%.

Even Trump’s media venture, Truth Social, got a 6% bump, despite its recent financial losses. Investors seem confident that Trump’s return to the White House will bring more freedom, less interference, and new life to America’s economy.
