President-elect Donald Trump has declared war on what he calls the Biden administration’s “woke agenda,” pledging to roll back the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies that have seeped into every corner of the federal government. From Pride Month celebrations to race-based hiring initiatives, Trump’s mission to eradicate DEI programs promises to be one of the defining battles of his new administration.
“I will eliminate this madness on day one,” Trump said at a recent rally. “The government should be about serving the American people, not forcing a radical leftist ideology down their throats.”
To lead this crusade, Trump has assembled a team of high-profile allies, including Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) as Secretary of State, Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence (DNI). These appointments have sent shockwaves through Washington, with supporters praising the selections and critics bracing for a dramatic shift in federal policy.
Targets in the Crosshairs
DEI initiatives under President Biden have sparked controversy and outrage from conservatives, who argue the programs waste taxpayer dollars and promote divisive ideologies. For example, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) organized events during Pride Month that included a nail-painting session featuring transgender flag colors and a crochet class for crafting Pride flags.
Tulsi Gabbard, poised to take the helm of the DNI, has been vocal in her criticism of such programs. “Intelligence work should be focused on protecting our country, not on social experiments,” she said in a recent interview.
Similarly, the State Department, which Rubio will lead, has hosted identity-based groups such as LGBTQIA+ Pride in Foreign Affairs Agencies and Blacks in Government, which critics say have used their platforms to push left-wing agendas.
“I will not allow the State Department to become a playground for ideological crusades,” Rubio told supporters. “Our mission is diplomacy, not activism.”
Special Envoys Under Scrutiny
Another likely target for the Trump administration is the elimination of State Department roles created under Biden to advance progressive policies. Desiree Cormier Smith, the Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice, has been a lightning rod for conservative criticism due to her promotion of Critical Race Theory concepts and her ties to billionaire George Soros.
“Structural racism and white supremacy are global threats,” Smith has said, framing her work as vital to combating systemic discrimination. Critics, however, argue her role is unnecessary and ideologically driven.
Jessica Stern, the Special Envoy for LGBTQI+ Rights, has also come under fire for using her position to promote transgender policies worldwide. Stern has advocated for legal gender recognition based on self-determination and marched in Pride events globally.
Both Smith and Stern are likely to see their positions eliminated as Trump’s team works to “clear out the rot,” as Hegseth recently described it.
Outsourcing Activism
One of the challenges Trump’s team faces is rooting out DEI efforts that have been outsourced to nonprofits and think tanks. Under Biden, organizations like the RAND Corporation were paid millions to promote DEI training in the Department of Defense. RAND’s reports encouraged strategies to combat “white fatigue” and resistance to diversity initiatives.
Similarly, the State Department awarded grants to promote transgender policies abroad, including $50,000 for pro-transgender programs in Indian corporations and $30,000 for sensitivity training in Kyrgyzstan.
“Taxpayer money should never fund this kind of ideological nonsense,” Hegseth said. “We will review every contract, every grant, and every dollar spent.”
Race-Based Hiring and Recruitment
Perhaps most contentious is the Pentagon’s use of race and gender-based recruitment goals. Internal Air Force documents revealed demographic quotas aimed at reducing the proportion of white male recruits. Meanwhile, a Department of Defense program at the University of Missouri—Kansas City gave preferential treatment to women and minorities in STEM internships.
Such practices were emboldened by a now-debunked McKinsey study that falsely claimed diversity improved corporate profits. The Trump administration has vowed to end all identity-based hiring practices across federal agencies.
An Uphill Battle
Despite Trump’s determination, dismantling DEI will not be an easy task. Many of these policies are embedded in agency culture and supported by powerful bureaucratic networks. Affinity groups within agencies, like employee resource groups for minority and LGBTQ employees, have played a significant role in shaping internal policies.
But Trump’s team appears ready for the challenge. “This isn’t just about undoing Biden’s mess,” Gabbard said. “It’s about restoring integrity and focus to our government.”
As January approaches, all eyes are on Trump and his team. Whether they succeed in their ambitious goals or face insurmountable resistance remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the next chapter of America’s culture wars is about to begin.

This race and gender inclusion stuff is totally out of hand .Regardless of race , gender or whatever , hiring should always be the best individual for the job not to meet quotas or inclusion of any minority or ideology . How those on the left bought into this stuff is anyone’s guess but common sense should always be the first rule of hiring or appointing anyone to a position . Common Sense , something most on the left seemingly lack .
And not a minute too soon either! Chasing this assinine agenda out of the cracks and crevices of our federal government system is a great place to start!! DEI is for those bent on chasing unicorns and Barbie dolls!
In the future, if and when talking about the Biden and Harris administration , we must remember to have plenty of toilet paper 𧻠available.
