Trump Declines to Deport Prince Harry, Takes Aim at Meghan Markle

Prince Harry’s immigration woes appear to be fading after former President Donald Trump publicly declared he has no intention of seeking his deportation. However, the former president didn’t pass up a chance to take a sharp jab at Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.

Speaking to the New York Post, Trump quipped, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

Trump, who recently met with Prince William in Paris for a preview of the Notre-Dame Cathedral restoration, drew a clear contrast between the royal brothers. “I think William is a great young man,” he said, signaling admiration for the Prince of Wales while leaving Harry to contend with his own challenges.

The Heritage Foundation’s Legal Battle

The controversy surrounding Harry’s immigration status resurfaced after the Heritage Foundation renewed its lawsuit demanding the release of the Duke of Sussex’s U.S. immigration records. The conservative think tank, known for its strong stance on border security and legal immigration, argues that Harry may have misrepresented his past drug use when applying for a visa.

In his 2023 memoir, Spare, Harry admitted to experimenting with various drugs, including cocaine and psychedelic mushrooms. Such admissions typically raise red flags in the immigration process. The Foundation suspects that Harry either omitted these details from his paperwork or received preferential treatment from the Biden administration.

Despite the initial lawsuit being dismissed, the group has since filed an appeal. A federal judge has indicated that, in principle, the documents could be made public, intensifying scrutiny over how Harry managed to secure residency in the U.S.

Political and Legal Ramifications

Legal experts warn that the issue remains politically charged. “Decisions made by immigration authorities can be discretionary and highly susceptible to political influence,” said immigration attorney John Markham. “Harry’s visa could theoretically be revoked, or he could be denied re-entry if officials choose to take a stricter interpretation of the law.”

Cases of foreign nationals being barred from the U.S. over past drug use are not uncommon. British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson was denied entry in 2013 after publicly admitting to using cocaine.

Trump’s History with the Sussexes

Trump’s animosity toward Meghan Markle dates back to 2016, when she called him “misogynistic” and “divisive” during a Comedy Central panel. After Meghan married Harry and officially entered royal life, the feud escalated. In 2019, Trump labeled her remarks “nasty” ahead of his state visit to the U.K. By 2022, he told Piers Morgan that Harry was “whipped like no person I think I’ve ever seen.”

Predicting a future royal split, Trump mused, “It’ll end, and it’ll end bad… What happens when Harry’s had enough of being bossed around? Or when she finds someone she likes better?”

What Comes Next?

With the Heritage Foundation pushing forward and a judge hinting at potential document disclosure, the battle over Harry’s U.S. status is far from over. Whether this issue gains traction in the political sphere remains to be seen, but for now, Trump has made his stance clear: Harry can stay, but Meghan is still fair game for criticism.

  1. Why do yawl keep referring to President Trump as former President Trump. It really makes yawl look pretty stupid and not knowing what you’re doing.
