Fighter Jets Accidentally Bomb Civilians During Military Drill, Injuring 15

A military training exercise turned into a nightmare on Thursday when South Korean fighter jets mistakenly bombed a civilian area near the North Korean border. The incident, part of a joint drill with U.S. forces, left more than a dozen people injured.

Video from the scene shows a bright, sunny day in the South Korean village of Nogok before chaos erupts. A bomb suddenly slams into the ground, seemingly in the path of a moving vehicle, triggering a fiery explosion and sending a massive cloud of dust and debris into the air. As the smoke clears, a person is seen running for safety.

Footage taken from nearby homes shows shattered glass, scattered kitchenware, and an entire door blown off its hinges. Officials in Pocheon reported that four people sustained serious injuries requiring surgery, while 11 others suffered minor wounds, including scratches and shock.

According to the South Korean Air Force, two KF-16 fighter jets mistakenly dropped eight MK-82 general-purpose bombs just after 10 AM local time. Investigators believe incorrect targeting coordinates led to the catastrophic error.

An official investigation is now underway, and all live-fire training has been suspended until the probe is complete.
