The Biden White House secretly handed over government-issued cellphones belonging to former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence to the FBI, as part of a controversial and politically charged investigation, Fox News Digital has uncovered.
According to recently revealed whistleblower documents provided to Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, Biden’s White House Counsel Office cooperated fully and quietly in handing over the devices to FBI agents. This extraordinary action, part of the bureau’s investigation dubbed “Arctic Frost,” has raised serious questions about political bias and potential abuses of power within federal law enforcement.
Whistleblower Claims: FBI Agent Led Politically Charged Probe
The probe, launched in April 2022, was spearheaded by FBI agent Timothy Thibault, a known critic of Trump who later faced termination for violating the Hatch Act over anti-Trump social media posts. Whistleblower disclosures accuse Thibault of breaking bureau protocol by initiating an unauthorized criminal investigation explicitly targeting Trump.
“This entire investigation reeks of political targeting,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) told Fox News Digital. “It’s clear the Biden administration willingly played along. We will expose this corruption fully.”
Documents reviewed by Fox News reveal the FBI did not initially secure warrants to seize the phones. Instead, the Biden administration handed them over voluntarily in May 2022. Weeks later, agents retroactively sought warrants to extract sensitive data.
“The Biden White House was complicit in what appears to be an FBI fishing expedition,” a source close to the investigation stated.
Senators Demand Transparency, Question FBI’s Motives
Senators Grassley and Johnson have formally requested Attorney General Pam Bondi and newly appointed FBI Director Kash Patel to release all documents related to “Arctic Frost.” They emphasized the importance of transparency, arguing the American people deserve to see clear evidence of alleged FBI political bias and misuse of resources.
“Sunshine is the best disinfectant,” Grassley stated in a letter to the FBI. “Americans deserve full accountability.”
Grassley and Johnson gave the Justice Department and FBI until March 27, 2025, to respond.
New FBI Director Vows Action Amid Controversy
FBI Director Kash Patel, recently confirmed by the Senate, promised aggressive compliance with congressional oversight requests.
“Director Patel is determined to clean house,” FBI spokesman Ben Williamson assured Fox News. “We are cooperating fully to get answers to the American people.”
Jack Smith, the special counsel initially overseeing “Arctic Frost,” had previously charged Trump in cases that were later dismissed following Trump’s election victory. Smith’s role in targeting Trump has intensified calls among Republicans to investigate alleged politicization within the Justice Department.
“Americans deserve better than politically motivated witch hunts,” Sen. Johnson emphasized. “The integrity of our justice system must be restored.”
Legal Battles and Public Outrage Expected
This revelation is likely to intensify public debate about Biden’s use of government agencies against political opponents, raising the stakes ahead of upcoming congressional hearings.
“The administration crossed a dangerous line,” Johnson concluded. “We will hold them accountable.”
