Top U.S. Hospital Slammed for ‘Radical Woke Agenda’

A firestorm is erupting in Detroit after a powerful new ad campaign exposed one of the country’s most respected hospitals for allegedly pushing a far-left political agenda under the guise of healthcare.

Henry Ford Health, a prominent medical institution in Michigan, is under heavy fire from the watchdog group Consumers’ Research, which just launched a searing campaign accusing the hospital of “putting politics over patients.” From irreversible sex-change treatments for children to climate activism and race-based hiring practices, critics say the hospital has lost sight of its mission—and now it’s scrambling to hide the evidence.

The campaign, dubbed Ford Health Exposed, includes a dedicated website, mobile billboards, and signage plastered near the Michigan state capitol and hospital entrances. The goal? To alert the public to what Consumers’ Research executive director Will Hild calls “a radical ideological takeover of healthcare.”

“This isn’t medicine—it’s activism in a lab coat,” Hild told Fox News Digital. “They’re mutilating confused kids, injecting race politics into every department, and burning through millions on green projects while families are just trying to find decent care.”

In recent days, Henry Ford Health quietly scrubbed parts of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) messaging from its website—just hours after media inquiries were made. Archived versions of the site, however, show pages praising DEI as “woven into the fabric” of the organization, along with pledges to work with businesses based on race, gender, or sexual orientation.

At the center of the backlash is the hospital’s involvement in gender-transition care for minors. According to Stop The Harm, a tracking group, Henry Ford Health has administered puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgical procedures to children. Pediatrician Dr. Maureen Connolly, a leading voice at the hospital, even encouraged parents to support “gender exploration,” writing:

“If your daughter says she feels like a boy, let her cut her hair and change her name.”

That sentiment has outraged many families.

“This is not medicine. It’s experimentation on kids who need compassion and counseling—not hormones and scalpels,” said Janice Meyer, a Detroit-area mother and advocate for parental rights in education.

The hospital’s relationship with the Ruth Ellis Center, a controversial clinic offering LGBTQ+ youth services, is also drawing heat. In 2022 alone, Henry Ford doctors treated over 700 LGBTQ+ patients—more than half of them transgender young adults—across thousands of appointments that included “gender-affirming care.”

The hospital has also injected far-left climate goals into its operations, spending millions on a “Central Energy Hub” as part of a pledge to reach net-zero emissions. One hospital press release even quotes a top executive boasting about how “sustainability is part of community health,” linking environmental policy to race-based disparities.

“They’ve turned medical care into a green activist playground,” Hild added. “It’s about control, not care.”

Consumers’ Research has promised this is just the beginning. Their mobile billboard campaign is already rolling across Detroit and Macomb, with a massive display near Lansing’s state capitol, warning residents about what they call “the wokest hospital in America.”

“The hospital’s deliberate mutilation of confused children’s bodies is being done in direct defiance of President Trump’s vow to end this practice nationwide,” Hild said. “This isn’t health equity—it’s ideological warfare.”

So far, Henry Ford Health has refused to comment directly, but their recent web deletions suggest the heat is being felt. Whether the hospital doubles down—or backs away from its activist agenda—remains to be seen.

But one thing is clear: a growing number of Americans are no longer staying silent as politics seep into every corner of the country’s healthcare system.
