GOP Congresswoman’s Office Evacuated Over ‘Imminent’ Death Threats (Video)

Florida Congresswoman Kat Cammack says she was forced to evacuate her office this week following a disturbing surge in threats against her life and her unborn child—an attack she blames on radical abortion activists.

Cammack, a staunch Republican and co-chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, revealed on Wednesday that her team received what she called “imminent death threats” after she publicly discussed undergoing emergency treatment for a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy last year. The incident, which happened just after Florida’s six-week abortion restriction became law, was legal under the statute—but that didn’t stop the rage from pouring in.

“I’ve received thousands of hate-filled messages and dozens of credible threats,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter). “These are not just trolls. These are people saying they want me and my baby dead.”

The situation became so serious that law enforcement advised her to leave her office for her own safety.

A Misleading Media Frenzy

The backlash began after Cammack shared her personal medical ordeal in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, hoping to raise awareness about the realities of ectopic pregnancies—where the embryo implants outside the uterus and cannot survive. Left untreated, the condition can be fatal to the mother.

“I was five weeks along, and it was a life-threatening emergency. There was no other option,” Cammack explained in the Journal interview.

Despite her openness, pro-abortion activists and some members of the media falsely claimed she had violated the very laws she supports.

“To those spreading misinformation: I did not vote for Florida’s heartbeat law. I serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, not the Florida Legislature,” she clarified in her X post.

No Backing Down

Cammack is no stranger to political combat. The Gainesville-area congresswoman has been a vocal defender of the unborn since she entered Congress in 2021. She currently co-leads the House Pro-Life Caucus and has backed multiple bills to restrict taxpayer funding for abortions and protect infants born alive after failed procedures.

“I won’t be intimidated. I won’t be silenced. If anything, this shows exactly why we need to stand up and fight harder for life,” she said in a follow-up statement Thursday morning.

The congresswoman, who is now pregnant again and expecting her baby this summer, told supporters that she’s taking extra precautions but remains undeterred.

GOP Colleagues React

Several Republican lawmakers quickly came to her defense.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) posted, “Threats of violence from the left are nothing new. But threatening a pregnant woman and elected official? That’s depraved.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson called the threats “despicable” and vowed to push for stronger protections for lawmakers and their families.

This latest incident underscores the escalating hostility surrounding abortion politics in America, especially as states continue to craft their own laws following the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Florida’s six-week heartbeat law, signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, has been a flashpoint in the national debate.

While the law includes exceptions for rape, incest, and medical emergencies like ectopic pregnancies, critics continue to spread misinformation—sometimes with dangerous consequences.

As for Cammack, she’s not backing down.
