America has lost one of its boldest voices for faith and family. Two months after the death of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson, his son Willie is opening up about the final moments shared with the man who built an empire on duck calls, unwavering values, and unapologetic faith in Jesus Christ.
Phil Robertson, 79, passed away on May 20 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. But his final words left no doubt about the rock on which he stood.
“Do not cry at my funeral. I know where I’m going,” Phil told his family.
“He had a strong faith, always,” Willie Robertson told TV Insider this week. “That faith never wavered, even at the very end.”
A Life That Shaped a Nation
Phil wasn’t just a reality TV star — he was a symbol of traditional American values at a time when the Left was doing everything it could to tear them down. Rising to fame through Duck Dynasty, which aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017, Phil turned his back on Hollywood glitz in favor of preaching the Gospel and building a family business in small-town Louisiana.
But Phil’s impact didn’t end with entertainment. His boldness in speaking biblical truth made him a culture warrior — and a target of media elites.
Even in his final months, weakened by Alzheimer’s, Phil never lost his sense of purpose. His son Jase previously revealed on the Unashamed podcast, “He keeps saying, ‘I’m gonna get back to the podcast.’ But he was clearly struggling.”
Phil’s wit remained intact too. When Jase joked about his memory loss, Phil chuckled and replied, “Tell me about it.”
A Patriarch’s Passing, A Nation’s Mourning
Phil’s death came just days before the premiere of Duck Dynasty: The Revival, a sequel series airing on A&E that continues the legacy he built. Though he couldn’t film due to his health, a single clip of Phil giving a thumbs-up was included in the show — a symbolic passing of the torch.
“It was really special,” said Willie’s wife, Korie. “It felt like his way of saying, ‘Keep going.’”
And keep going they have. The Robertson family says they’ve been flooded with messages from fans, church groups, and veterans who credit Phil’s words with changing — and even saving — their lives.
“He told everyone who would listen about Jesus,” Korie wrote in the family’s statement. “And we know he’s with the Lord now.”
“Full Strength Ahead!”
Phil’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, also shared her final moment with him on Instagram.
“One of the last things he said to me was, ‘Full strength ahead!’” she wrote, quoting 2 Corinthians 5:17. “Now he’s fully alive in Christ.”
Miss Kay’s Comeback: “She’s Traveling Again”
Phil’s widow, Miss Kay, was said to be heartbroken and in declining health after losing her husband of over 60 years. But according to Willie, she’s made what he calls an “unbelievable turnaround.”
“She’s doing so much better,” he told Fox News Digital. “She just went to church, she’s traveling again, and she’s been filming with us.”
Korie added that Miss Kay even appeared on the Duck Call Room podcast recently — a surprise that fans greeted as a “proof of life” moment.
“She’s finding joy again,” said Willie. “But of course, there’s a big void. They did everything together.”
A Faithful Warrior to the End
As America faces cultural upheaval and spiritual confusion, Phil Robertson’s legacy is a sobering reminder of the kind of man this nation was built by — and built for. He was never afraid to say that Jesus Christ was Lord. He stood firm when corporate media tried to cancel him. And when his time came, he met death with courage.
“That’s why we’re on this earth,” Willie said. “To live out our faith — not just talk it, but live it. And Dad lived it all the way to the finish line.”
In an age when truth is often ridiculed, Phil Robertson reminded America what it looks like to finish well.
Rest in peace, brother Phil.
