Police in Burbank, California, have once again arrested Calese Carron Crowder, a 38-year-old registered sex offender accused of engaging in his disturbing, repeat behavior — allegedly sniffing a stranger’s backside inside a local store.
According to the Burbank Police Department, the latest incident happened Wednesday night when Crowder was accused of targeting an unsuspecting shopper. While officials haven’t released many details yet, this arrest marks at least the second time in weeks Crowder has been taken into custody for similar alleged conduct.
Back in July, Crowder was caught on surveillance footage at the Empire Shopping Center allegedly engaging in “lewd behavior” by sniffing a female shopper’s butt inside a store. At the time, prosecutors charged him with one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime, and his bail was set at $100,000.
Authorities also confirmed that Crowder is a registered sex offender with a history of similar arrests over the years. In the July case, police revealed he was on active parole when the incident occurred.
For now, Burbank police haven’t released additional details on this week’s arrest, but investigators say they are reviewing security footage and witness statements as they continue their probe.
