The FBI has released chilling surveillance images of a man they are calling a “person of interest” in the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk — a shocking political killing that has rocked the nation.
Kirk, 31, was gunned down Wednesday on the campus of Utah Valley University, where he was scheduled to speak about free speech and the importance of defending America’s founding principles. The attack sent students scrambling for cover and left conservatives across the country demanding answers.
The images, posted by the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office, show a lanky male dressed in all black, wearing wraparound sunglasses, a dark hat, and a long-sleeve shirt marked with an American flag. Officials stressed he has not yet been identified, but is considered a person of interest.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this individual in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk,” the FBI wrote on X, urging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online.
The brazen daylight killing has ignited fierce debate in Washington and beyond. President Donald Trump, speaking Thursday morning from the White House, condemned the shooting in forceful terms:
“This was a cowardly and evil act carried out against a great American patriot,” Trump said. “Charlie Kirk loved this country. He dedicated his life to fighting for young conservatives who were too often silenced. We will not stop until the person responsible is brought to justice.”
Utah Governor Spencer Cox also called the crime “a direct attack on free expression and democracy,” pledging that state and federal authorities are “working around the clock” to catch the gunman.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, rose to prominence during the Trump years by galvanizing conservative youth against what he called “the radical leftist takeover” of American universities. He became a regular presence on Fox News and at Republican rallies, where he was a loyal ally of Trump and an outspoken critic of President Biden during the 2024 election.
Friends and colleagues have described him as tireless and fearless. “Charlie believed that ideas matter and that free speech was worth defending, no matter the cost,” said Candace Owens, a close ally, in a tearful interview. “He paid the ultimate price for his convictions.”
The assassination has renewed concerns over the safety of conservative voices on college campuses. Lawmakers are pressing the Justice Department to determine whether Kirk’s killing was politically motivated.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) said, “If this was an act of political terrorism, it must be named and treated as such. Conservatives should not have to risk their lives to speak on American campuses.”
For now, authorities are urging calm while the manhunt continues. Police have searched homes near the Utah Valley University campus, though officials have not released details of what was found.
The FBI has made clear: identifying the man in the surveillance photos is their top priority.
As one Utah student put it: “Charlie Kirk came here to talk about freedom. And now he’s gone. Whoever did this — they have to be caught.”

There may be a lot of aiding and abetting going on by Progressive Party’s more virulent members supporting the hiding of this guy. They’re pretty good at hiding people. They’ve had a lot of practice. We still can’t find a lot of the illegals.
