A gunman stormed an ICE detention center in Dallas on Wednesday, opening fire in what federal investigators are calling a “targeted attack.” Three detainees were hit. At least one is confirmed dead.
The FBI and Homeland Security rushed to the scene, locking down the facility as agents swept nearby buildings for possible accomplices. Officials have not yet released the gunman’s identity, but sources confirmed to local outlets that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz didn’t mince words.
“Violence is wrong. Politically motivated violence is wrong,” Cruz told reporters after the shooting. He warned that anti-ICE rhetoric has fueled real-world bloodshed.
“This is the third shooting in Texas directed at ICE or CBP. This must stop,” he said firmly. “To every politician who is demonizing ICE, calling them Nazis, demanding that their agents be doxed—stop. The rhetoric has consequences.”
Cruz also tied the Dallas attack to a wave of politically charged violence, reminding Americans of the Sept. 10 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah.
“In America, we disagree. That’s fine. But your political opponents are not Nazis,” Cruz said. “We need to work together without demonizing each other.”
President Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, revealed just how dangerous the climate has become for officials enforcing immigration laws.
“I have a 24/7 security detail because of threats against me. I don’t live with my family because I don’t want them around danger,” Homan told The Charlie Kirk Show.
But he made clear he won’t back down.
“I’m not shutting up. I’m going to continue fighting to make this country great again,” Homan vowed. “President Trump brought me back to deliver on his promise: to remove the worst illegal aliens and make America safe again. Hard stop.”
Wednesday’s bloodshed is the latest reminder that America’s immigration wars have turned violent. Under President Trump, border enforcement has been expanded, with new crackdowns on drug cartels, human traffickers, and repeat offenders. But critics on the Left have escalated their attacks on ICE, branding agents as villains.
For Texans living near the border—and for the families of ICE and CBP officers—the message from Cruz and Homan was clear: political hatred is not just rhetoric. It’s putting lives on the line.

Perhaps California Governor Newsome and others should be charged as accomplices in these acts due to their non-stop inciting of such violence!
I find it interesting that the photograph shows a 5 round clip holding ammunition. I have a thought and have since the assassination of Charlie that the ammunition in possibly both cases is not 30-06 but 7.92 mm. The difference between them is so slight that engineers once tried to duplicate a firearm but didn’t take into account the difference and wasted a huge amount of monies. The clip is Turkish which is/was in 7.92. Why is this important? Because if it is of the same caliber both shootings may have been using the same ammunition from the same source. Also the Mauser rifle used in Kirks shooting was a German 98k in 7.92 caliber then sporterized to a hunting rifle, allegedly in 30-06. It makes sense to me that it was still chambered for 7.92 mm not 30-06. Curiouser and curiouser perchance we will never know!
