In a shocking twist no one saw coming, Joy Behar — one of Donald Trump’s loudest critics on daytime television — has admitted she agrees with the President.
During Thursday’s fiery episode of The View, Behar stunned her co-hosts by siding with Trump on the indictment of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
“You know, I don’t like Comey. I agree with Trump on this one,” Behar declared, cutting off co-host Sunny Hostin’s rant about the President’s so-called “kangaroo court system.”
Her words drew audible gasps from the studio audience. “At the last minute to bring out this baloney, email baloney thing? Get outta here,” Behar added, slamming Comey’s decision in 2016 to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server just days before the election.
It’s no secret Behar has spent years attacking Trump. But on this issue, she was blunt: “I rarely have something I agree with Trump on. So, this is one thing.”
Co-host Sara Haines immediately jumped on Behar’s comments. “So you want him to be prosecuted just because you don’t like him?” she asked.
“No, no,” Behar shot back. But her colleagues — Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin — pointed fingers and laughed, knowing Haines had landed a punch.
Hostin tried to defend Comey as “just doing his job,” but Behar wouldn’t have it. “What? At the last minute? To bring out this baloney? I don’t buy it,” she said.
The indictment of Comey marks one of the most dramatic chapters in Trump’s second term. Once hailed by Democrats as a principled lawman, Comey became a villain to both parties.
Back in 2017, Trump fired Comey after the FBI launched its investigation into alleged ties between Trump’s campaign and Russia. Now, years later, a federal grand jury has charged him with obstruction of justice and making false statements. He denies the accusations.
The White House insists the case centers on Comey’s mishandling of the Clinton probe, which critics say destabilized the 2016 election.
The indictment came just days after Trump posted — accidentally, according to aides — a Truth Social message to Attorney General Pam Bondi calling for prosecution of “political enemies.”
The post was widely interpreted as a direct message that went public by mistake. Still, Trump doubled down: “The days of two-tiered justice are over. Nobody is above the law — not the FBI, not the Clintons, not anyone.”
The bombshell exchange comes as The View faces its own reckoning. The talk show has been accused of bias for hosting overwhelmingly left-leaning guests, even as networks across America face pressure under Trump’s FCC.
After CBS axed Stephen Colbert for publicly accusing Paramount of taking a “big fat bribe” from Trump, and Jimmy Kimmel’s show was briefly suspended following remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, insiders say the mood in television studios is grim.
“Behind the scenes, staff are scared for their jobs. It’s a scary time,” one source told Radar. “They’re holding their breath. What you say on national TV now really matters.”
But Thursday’s surprise moment showed even Trump’s loudest critics may finally be bending.
For once, Joy Behar found common ground with Donald J. Trump — and the political earthquake may only just be beginning.
