FBI Raids Georgia Election Site as 2020 Controversy Explodes Under President Trump

Fulton County’s Election Hub was swarmed by FBI agents early Wednesday in what federal officials described only as “court-ordered activity,” reviving the political firestorm over Georgia’s disputed 2020 results just months after prosecutors abruptly dropped the election-interference case against President Trump.

The FBI would not say what investigators were searching for or seizing. A senior federal official, speaking anonymously because the court order remains sealed, told our outlet, “This is part of an ongoing judicial directive. We cannot comment further at this time.”

Agents entered the Fulton County Election Hub and Operations Center around dawn. Local employees were kept outside the building for hours. One worker told us, “It looked like something big. They wouldn’t even let us near the parking lot.”

The move comes as President Trump, now back in the White House after his 2024 victory, has repeatedly insisted that Georgia’s 2020 results were “one of the biggest election disasters in American history.” During a rally in Atlanta earlier this month, Trump told supporters, “We all know what happened here. And we’re finally getting the truth.”

The timing has raised eyebrows across Georgia’s political landscape.

In November, Fulton County prosecutors quietly dismissed the sweeping 2023 election-interference indictment against Trump and 18 co-defendants. The case collapsed after District Attorney Fani Willis was removed for alleged misconduct related to her personal relationship with a special prosecutor. Willis’ disqualification triggered a cascade of legal challenges, ultimately leaving the case without a viable team to continue.

A former Georgia elections investigator who worked during the 2020 recount said Wednesday’s FBI action is “highly unusual.”

“In my entire career, I have never seen federal agents enter an election operations hub this far removed from an election unless something significant was happening behind the scenes,” he said. “This is not routine.”

The original charges stemmed from Trump’s January 2, 2021, call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger — a conversation captured on audio and circulated globally — where Trump argued that voting irregularities had tainted the results. Raffensperger pushed back publicly at the time, but the case remained one of the largest election-related prosecutions in U.S. history until its dismissal.

Trump and all co-defendants had pleaded not guilty.

A senior White House official responded to news of the raid by saying, “President Trump has always maintained that the American people deserve transparency. Whatever the FBI is doing in Fulton County today, we hope it finally brings clarity to what happened in 2020.”

Georgia lawmakers are already calling for hearings. State Rep. Jackson Mulvaney told us, “If the FBI is back inside Fulton County’s election hub, then the public deserves answers. No more secrecy.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, FBI agents remained inside the building, and no details about the sealed court order have been released.
