MMA Fighter ‘Guilty’ of Beating GF During FaceTime with Barron Trump

A London jury has convicted a wealthy Russian heir of viciously assaulting his girlfriend during a FaceTime call — a call being watched in real time by President Trump’s youngest son. But the explosive international case ended with the accused cleared of rape charges.

Prosecutors said 22-year-old Matvei Rumiantsev snapped in a jealous rage inside his luxury Canary Wharf apartment the moment he spotted Barron Trump on the victim’s phone screen.

“He grabbed her by the hair, threw her down, and screamed, ‘You are nothing,’” a prosecutor told the court.

Barron, 19, was stunned. Watching from Florida, he rushed to figure out how to dial emergency services in Britain.

“I just got a call from a girl,” he told the 999 operator. “She’s getting beaten up.”

The operator had no idea she was scolding the president’s son when she snapped, “Stop being rude and answer my questions.”

Barron later explained, “I wasn’t being rude. I was trying to save her.”

The victim told police: “Barron helped save my life. That call was a sign from God.”

Rumiantsev was found guilty of assault and attempting to pervert justice after he called and wrote to the victim from jail, trying to pressure her into silence. Prosecutors described him as a “dangerous manipulator.”

But jurors acquitted him of rape and strangulation charges after conflicting testimony about alcohol, coercion, and the couple’s volatile relationship.

Rumiantsev comes from a wealthy, Putin-era business dynasty. His father built One Price Coffee, a major Russian chain, and the family has deep military ties. Matvei attended elite British schools costing over $100,000 a year, a pipeline reserved for the ultra-rich.

When officers arrived, the victim told them who had witnessed the assault.

One officer whispered to another, “The informant might actually be Donald Trump’s son.”

Barron later told investigators, “I called the police. That was the only thing that wouldn’t make it worse.”

Rumiantsev remains behind bars as he awaits sentencing in March.
He faces significant prison time.

British officers quietly acknowledged what many Americans already believe: Barron Trump’s quick thinking likely prevented a tragedy.
