Man Goes on Shocking ‘Joy Ride’ on Airport Cart (Video)

A drunken late-night stunt at Buffalo Niagara International Airport turned into a destructive joyride — and now one man is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing a motorized airport cart and plowing it through multiple moving walkways, leaving shattered glass, twisted metal, and stunned onlookers behind.

The suspect, 29-year-old Kevin J. Sinning of Wyoming, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Monday by Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police. Officers say Sinning appeared “visibly intoxicated” and showed little concern for the chaos unfolding around him.

Cellphone video posted on Facebook shows a man slowly cruising an unattended Prime Flight cart through the airport’s corridors. At first, it looks harmless — even comical — but the situation quickly turns destructive.

In one clip, Sinning rams the vehicle onto a moving walkway. It’s immediately clear the cart doesn’t fit. The wheels grind and the glass panels crack. Witnesses gasp as the cart keeps pushing forward — ripping through the walkway and spewing shards of glass and bent metal in its wake.

“He just didn’t stop,” said one airport worker who asked not to be named. “It was like he thought he was invincible. Like something out of Jackass.”

By the time officers caught up with him at the end of the terminal, the damage was done. Walkways were mangled, glass was scattered across the floor, and airport operations were briefly disrupted.

No Injuries, But Big Consequences

Miraculously, no injuries were reported. But the damage? Extensive.

Sinning is now facing a laundry list of charges:

  • Second-degree criminal mischief
  • Third-degree grand larceny
  • Criminal possession of stolen property worth more than $3,000
  • Criminal nuisance
  • Disorderly conduct

Airport authorities confirmed that the cart and the moving walkways will require costly repairs. The exact total hasn’t been released, but insiders say it could reach tens of thousands of dollars.

“Not a Joyride — This Was Reckless Destruction”

“This wasn’t some harmless prank,” said a spokesperson for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. “This was a reckless, dangerous act that put people at risk and caused major property damage.”

Sinning declined to comment when reached Friday.

He remains out on bond pending a court appearance later this month. Officials say they are reviewing additional security footage to determine whether others were involved or aware of the stunt before it began.

For now, airport staff are left cleaning up the mess — and passengers are reminded that the moving walkways are not, under any circumstances, built for joyrides.
