Fake Charlie Kirk Shooter Busted for Child Porn

The twisted saga surrounding the assassination of conservative icon Charlie Kirk just took another disturbing turn.

George Zinn, the 71-year-old Utah man who falsely confessed to being Kirk’s killer during last week’s chaos at Utah Valley University, is now facing a shocking new charge: possession of child pornography.

“This man wasted precious time and endangered the public,” a Utah law enforcement source told Patriot Tribune. “Now we know he may have been hiding even more sinister crimes.”

On September 10, gunshots rang out during a Turning Point USA event hosted by Charlie Kirk, one of the most prominent voices in the conservative movement. Chaos erupted across UVU’s campus, as students scrambled for cover and law enforcement raced to lock down the scene.

In the middle of the panic, police say Zinn approached officers and deliberately misled them, shouting:

“I shot him—now shoot me!”

Bodycam footage confirms Zinn repeated the phrase multiple times while resisting arrest. Officers found no weapon on him. He refused to say where it was supposedly hidden, insisting instead on taking the blame.

His dramatic performance led to widespread confusion. Social media lit up with viral footage showing Zinn being led away in handcuffs, with millions assuming the shooter had been caught.

“His fake confession sent us in the wrong direction,” one officer said. “And it cost us critical time.”

Authorities say Zinn later recanted during questioning at the station. But he didn’t walk back his motives.

“I wanted to be a martyr for the person who was shot,” Zinn allegedly told officers at a local hospital.

He also reportedly admitted he made the false confession to “draw attention away from the real shooter.”

That “real shooter” has since been identified as 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, who is now in custody and facing capital murder charges. Prosecutors are said to be pursuing the death penalty—an effort strongly backed by both President Trump and Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who have called Kirk’s killing a “political assassination” and a “direct attack on free speech.”

While in custody, Zinn reportedly allowed investigators to search his phone. What they found has now added a sickening new layer to the story.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, investigators discovered disturbing material involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Zinn reportedly admitted he used the device to view child sex abuse images, and is now charged with four felony counts related to child pornography.

He’s also facing an additional charge of obstruction of justice for misleading police during the Kirk investigation.

The revelation has prompted a tidal wave of condemnation from conservative lawmakers and media voices.

“This wasn’t just a hoax—it was evil,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Truth Social. “This man exploited the murder of a patriot and used it to distract police. Now we find out he’s a predator? He deserves justice in full.”

“Charlie Kirk was targeted for being a Christian conservative,” added Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO). “Let’s not forget who the real victim is.”

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was a frequent surrogate for President Trump on the 2024 campaign trail and an outspoken critic of censorship, left-wing indoctrination, and the weaponization of federal law enforcement.

He was gunned down shortly after addressing a packed crowd of college students in what has been called the most shocking political attack on American soil since the shooting of Steve Scalise.

President Trump has called the killing an act of “domestic terrorism” and has vowed to direct the DOJ to “fully prosecute those involved—directly or indirectly.”

Kirk’s supporters have held vigils across the country and continue to demand transparency in the investigation.

“Charlie was a voice for the forgotten generation,” said TPUSA’s Candace Owens at a Utah vigil. “We will not let his mission die with him.”

Zinn remains behind bars at the Utah County Jail. No attorney has yet been publicly listed. A judge is expected to rule later this week on whether he’ll face federal charges in addition to the current state-level counts.

Meanwhile, the Utah Attorney General’s office says it will investigate whether Zinn had any contact with radical political groups or individuals online prior to the shooting.

“We’re not ruling anything out,” said a source inside the AG’s office. “There’s too much at stake.”
