Princess Anne Delivers Shocking ‘Snub’ to Prince Harry While in Ukraine

It’s giving coronation feather déjà vu.

Remember when Princess Anne wore that giant plume on her hat at King Charles’ coronation — the one that “accidentally” blocked Prince Harry’s face from the cameras? Well, Anne has struck again, and this time the setting was Ukraine.

Harry made a low-key, somewhat awkward visit to Kyiv last month, but his trip barely registered beyond a few headlines about his memoir and family drama. No official photos, no confirmed Zelensky meeting, and lots of chatter about Harry making it about, well, Harry.

Enter Anne — the royal family’s workhorse — who just swooped in and basically did Harry’s dream itinerary, but properly. Shaking hands with Zelensky? Check. Sitting with amputees during rehab? Check. Watching wounded veterans crush workouts in the gym? Check. Even poking her head into the quirky “salt rooms” used for recovery. And, unlike Harry, she wasn’t followed by a Netflix crew or a Guardian reporter. Just straight-up duty, photographed and packaged by both the palace and the Ukrainian government.

The kicker? Anne was officially sent by the British government. Harry may have had “permission” to freelance his trip, but insiders say Whitehall wasn’t exactly thrilled with him dabbling in geopolitics. They couldn’t stop him, but they sure could upstage him. Cue Anne: no drama, no self-promotion, just Old School Windsor grit.

And let’s not forget her history. This is a woman who told her own kidnapper “not bloody likely,” brushed off being kicked in the head by a horse, and has spent decades slogging through hundreds of royal engagements without complaint. She’s as no-nonsense as it gets — a stark contrast to Harry and Meghan’s brand of podcasts, Netflix specials, and curated Instagram vibes.

Harry’s Invictus Games are still an incredible achievement — no one’s denying that. But Anne’s trip sent a crystal-clear message: the monarchy doesn’t let Harry own the “veterans” space, or Ukraine, or really any serious royal turf.

Harry’s camp politely said Anne’s visit was “great” and that anything supporting Ukraine is “to be welcomed.” But behind the scenes? It’s hard not to imagine the déjà vu sting of that coronation feather all over again.
