Three Women Found Dead Near Tourist Hot Spot

Three women have been found dead in Puerto Vallarta, one of Mexico’s most popular vacation destinations for Americans, and authorities are now investigating whether the disturbing cases are connected.

The bodies were discovered over the past few weeks in separate areas on the outskirts of the coastal city in Jalisco, far from the busy beaches, resorts, and tourist zones that draw U.S. travelers every year.

Police have not yet identified the victims. But investigators say all three women appeared to be between 30 and 35 years old, had tattoos, and were found partially undressed.

Those similarities have raised alarm among local authorities, who are now looking at whether the deaths could be part of a larger pattern.

According to Mexico News Daily, no friends or relatives have come forward to claim the women’s bodies. That has led investigators to consider another grim possibility: the women may have been killed somewhere else and dumped in Puerto Vallarta.

The first body was discovered on May 10. A second was found just days later. Then, last Thursday, a third woman was found dead, fueling fears that a repeat offender could be involved.

The deaths come at a tense time for Jalisco, a state already shaken by cartel violence earlier this year.

Puerto Vallarta has long been marketed as a sunny escape for American tourists, with beaches, nightlife, resorts, and a famous boardwalk. But the recent discoveries are a chilling reminder that the danger in some parts of Mexico does not always stay far from the places tourists know best.

In February, cartel violence erupted after the reported death of Jalisco New Generation Cartel boss Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, better known as “El Mencho.” Vehicles and buildings were set on fire, roadblocks went up, and hundreds of Americans were left stranded as violence surged across the state.

The U.S. State Department issued a heightened travel alert at the time.

Officials say the region has since stabilized, but the discovery of three women’s bodies has put Puerto Vallarta back under scrutiny.

For now, police have not publicly confirmed a suspect, a motive, or whether the three victims knew each other.

But the similarities are hard to ignore — and investigators are searching for answers before another body turns up.
