NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski made an unexpected splash on Election Day, appearing alongside prominent Republicans and conservative activists in New Hampshire as the GOP fights to hold its ground in one of the country’s most closely watched political battlegrounds.
The four-time Super Bowl champion, affectionately known as “Gronk,” surprised voters Tuesday, November 3, as he visited polling locations, signed jerseys, posed for photographs and waved an American flag near campaign signs supporting Republican candidates.

His appearance immediately drew attention after he was photographed outside a Turning Point Action tent, where conservative volunteers were working to mobilize voters ahead of a crucial Senate showdown.
Gronkowski also posed for a photograph with Karina Nicholas, communications director for the New Hampshire Republican Party, who shared the encounter on social media.
“You never know who you will run into on Election Day!” Nicholas wrote.
Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte joined the excitement, sharing a photograph with Gronkowski and his longtime girlfriend, Camille Kostek, at a polling location in Bedford. Another Republican candidate, Henry Giasson, said the football legend even signed one of his campaign signs in Goffstown.
The celebrity visit came as Republicans mounted an aggressive effort to elect former Sen. John E. Sununu over Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in a fiercely contested race that could help determine control of the U.S. Senate.
Turning Point Action, the political advocacy organization founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has made New Hampshire a major focus of its voter turnout operation.
However, a Turning Point spokesperson clarified that Gronkowski was not officially appearing on behalf of the organization and had stopped by its tent to greet people and take photographs.
Despite the Republican connections, Gronkowski stopped short of publicly endorsing President Donald Trump or any particular candidate, emphasizing that his primary goal was encouraging Americans to participate in the election.
“It doesn’t matter what party you’re voting for. It’s just important that you go out there and vote,” he told NBC Boston.
The former Patriots tight end, who won three Super Bowls with New England and another with Tampa Bay, has generally avoided taking prominent positions in national politics. His appearance nevertheless attracted considerable attention because of the conservative figures and organizations surrounding the event.
Gronkowski wasn’t the only sports celebrity spotted at New Hampshire polling locations. Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and former Boston Red Sox star Kevin Youkilis also greeted voters around the state.
Amendola and Mayweather have previously expressed support for Trump, with both participating in Republican political events.
The unexpected star power even created logistical headaches. Bedford police warned residents about heavy traffic near the high school polling location where Gronkowski had been meeting fans.
For Republicans hoping to energize voters in a state with an intensely competitive Senate race, the appearance of one of New England’s most beloved football legends provided an attention-grabbing Election Day moment.
Whether Gronkowski ultimately makes a formal political endorsement remains unclear. But his surprise appearances alongside Republican figures ensured that the normally football-focused superstar would become part of the Election Day political conversation.
