Congressman Calls for Trump’s Family to Help ‘Seriously Ill’ President

Democrats are once again ramping up attacks on President Donald Trump — this time with a top liberal congressman openly suggesting the commander-in-chief needs a family “intervention” over his late-night social media posts.

Rep. Jim McGovern unloaded on the 79-year-old president during an interview with MeidasTouch, claiming Trump is “seriously ill” after the president fired off dozens of Truth Social posts in a marathon overnight posting spree that targeted political enemies including former President Barack Obama.

“I think he’s seriously ill,” McGovern said. “Trump needs medical attention, and there needs to be an intervention.”

The Massachusetts Democrat even suggested Trump’s own family or Cabinet officials should step in — while taking a swipe at Republicans in Congress for continuing to stand by the president.

The remarks came after Trump lit up Truth Social Monday night with a flood of posts and reposts touching on everything from the 2020 election to renewed allegations surrounding the Russia investigation. Among the reposts was content from the popular conservative account “Catturd,” which labeled Obama a “traitor.”

Trump also amplified posts accusing Obama-era officials and intelligence agencies of pushing what supporters have long called the “Russia hoax” against him during and after the 2016 election.

The online frenzy reportedly saw Trump post more than 50 times in just over an hour late Monday night — part of what critics claim has become a growing pattern during his second term in office.

But Trump allies argue the nonstop posting is exactly why millions of Americans still connect with him more than traditional politicians.

While critics portray the president’s late-night social media habits as alarming, supporters see a leader who works around the clock, bypasses the corporate media, and speaks directly to voters without filters.

The White House quickly dismissed McGovern’s comments.

“President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible president in American history,” spokesman Davis Ingle said. “He is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises, and he remains in excellent health.”

McGovern didn’t stop there.

The Democrat also blasted Trump’s reported plans for a massive new White House ballroom project, calling it a “vanity project” and claiming taxpayers could ultimately foot a billion-dollar bill while Americans struggle with inflation, grocery prices, and healthcare costs.

“You gotta be kidding me,” McGovern said. “Donald Trump lives in Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”

Still, Trump supporters have argued that Democrats continue focusing on personal attacks because they remain unable to counter the president’s dominance over the national conversation — especially online, where Trump’s posts routinely drive headlines across the country within minutes.
