Andrew Cuomo Ambushed by Profane Left-Wing Agitator Outside Brooklyn Church

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, now positioning himself as a frontrunner in the city’s mayoral race, was confronted Sunday by a foul-mouthed leftist provocateur outside a Brooklyn church — a dramatic scene that underscored lingering resentment over the Democrat’s scandal-ridden past.

As Cuomo, 67, exited the Bethesda Healing Center and made his way toward his vehicle, he was loudly heckled from across the parking lot by a notorious New York City performance artist known as “Crackhead Barney.”

“Sexually harass me, Cuomo! Come on, Cuomo, sexually harass me!” the agitator shrieked repeatedly, video captured by bystanders shows. Despite the vulgar taunts, Cuomo remained stone-faced, refusing to engage as he climbed behind the wheel of his car.

The episode escalated further when the woman, who has made a name for herself online with similar stunts targeting public figures, screamed even more obscene demands, at one point shouting, “Rape me!” — a vile accusation Cuomo has never faced, even amid the serious sexual harassment allegations that forced his resignation in 2021.

Church security and members of the congregation quickly intervened, positioning themselves between the unhinged protester and the mayoral hopeful’s vehicle to prevent her from reaching him. Cuomo quietly drove off without incident.

Background: Cuomo’s Fall from Power

Cuomo, once considered a Democratic Party heavyweight and even floated as a possible presidential contender, saw his political career implode after a series of sexual harassment claims by former staffers and other women. A blistering 2021 report by New York Attorney General Letitia James concluded that Cuomo had “sexually harassed multiple women,” but criminal charges were never filed. Cuomo has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, branding the allegations politically motivated.

Despite the scandal, Cuomo has attempted a slow but steady political comeback, pitching himself to weary New Yorkers as a strong hand capable of restoring law and order to a city battered by crime, economic instability, and progressive overreach.

A Closer Look at the Agitator

The woman behind Sunday’s profane ambush — Crackhead Barney — is a self-described “performance artist” infamous for heckling political figures, police officers, and even random pedestrians in crude, often incoherent street spectacles. Her antics have gained traction among far-left circles and certain activist communities who view public harassment as legitimate protest.

“This is the modern Left in action — vulgar, lawless, and completely unhinged,” said a longtime Brooklyn resident who witnessed the confrontation but asked not to be named. “Cuomo’s no saint, but nobody deserves to be attacked like that outside a house of worship.”

Cuomo’s Response: Focus on the Campaign

Cuomo’s team declined to comment on the incident directly. Instead, the former governor kept his focus on the campaign trail, touting his visits to both Bethesda Healing Center and Salem Missionary Baptist Church earlier that morning.

“This morning in Brooklyn, I spent time with the communities at Salem Missionary Baptist Church and Bethesda Healing Center and spoke about the New York we can be,” Cuomo posted on X, formerly Twitter. “It does not have to be this way. Together we can build a safe, affordable, and fair city for each and every New Yorker.”

Cuomo currently holds a slim lead in mayoral polling, according to recent surveys, capitalizing on growing frustration with surging crime and out-of-control costs of living under Democratic city leadership.
